Before You Start
Clean Your Shoes
For the best adhesion, make sure the application area is completely clean and dry.
- Remove any dirt, dust, mud, or debris using a damp cloth.
- Wipe the area thoroughly with the included cleaning wipe.
- Allow the surface to dry completely before application.
Best Surfaces for Application
MatchID labels work best on:
- Natural leather
- Synthetic leather
- Smooth synthetic materials
- Clean, flat surfaces
Surfaces to Avoid
For optimal results, avoid applying MatchID labels to:
- Textured surfaces
- Deeply creased areas
- Knit fabrics
- Mesh materials
- Highly flexible seams
Application Instructions
Step 1 – Choose Your Placement
Before removing any film, decide exactly where you would like your MatchID label to be positioned.
We recommend choosing a clean, smooth, and relatively flat area of the shoe.
Step 2 – Carefully Remove the White Backing
Your MatchID arrives between a white backing layer and a transparent carrier film.
Carefully peel away the white backing. This exposes the adhesive side of the design.
Keep the transparent carrier film in place. The design should remain attached to the transparent film while you position it on the shoe.
Peel slowly and carefully to make sure no part of the design moves or remains attached to the white backing.
Step 3 – Position & Apply
Holding the label by the transparent carrier film, carefully position the design on your chosen area.
Once the adhesive touches the shoe, avoid repositioning it.
When you are happy with the placement:
- Press firmly using your thumb.
- Apply even pressure across the entire design.
- Pay particular attention to small letters, corners, and fine details.
- Hold firmly for 10–15 seconds.
Step 4 – Wait & Remove the Transparent Film
After applying firm pressure:
- Wait approximately 60 seconds.
- Slowly begin peeling away the transparent carrier film from one corner.
- Peel slowly and keep the film close to the surface rather than pulling it directly upwards.
- The MatchID design should remain securely attached to the shoe.
If any part of the design begins to lift with the transparent film, stop peeling, place the film back down, press the area firmly again, and then continue peeling slowly.
Curing Time
Immediate Use
Your MatchID begins bonding to the surface immediately after application.
Full Bond Strength
For maximum adhesion, allow approximately 1–2 hours after application.
Best Results
For the strongest possible bond, we recommend applying your MatchID the evening before a match, training session, round, or event.
Care Instructions
Keeping your MatchID looking its best is simple.
Cleaning
- Wipe with a damp cloth.
- Use standard shoe cleaning products.
- Clean as part of your normal shoe care routine.
Avoid
- Washing machines
- Soaking shoes in water for extended periods
- Aggressive scrubbing directly over the design
Important Tips
To maximize durability:
- Always remove the white backing first.
- Keep the transparent carrier film attached during application.
- Peel both layers slowly to prevent small parts of the design from moving.
- Make sure the surface is completely clean and dry.
- Apply firm, even pressure across the entire design.
- Do not pick at the edges after application.
- Avoid excessive abrasion directly over the design.
